Lisa Thomas, Trainer and Owner
Lisa Thomas is a personal trainer and the owner of Elite Fitness Training Studio. Lisa has been a certified personal trainer for 20 years, since 1990, with a passion for the fitness industry to help educate and motivate clients to meet their goals. Over the years Lisa has devoted her life to fitness growing with all the fades and changes and continues on being a leader in health and wellness. She carries many certifications and continues to study fitness, nutrition, and sports nutrition. Since 1990 she studied martial arts, figure, fitness, physic, bodybuilding and obstacle course competitions. Lisa trains and coaches clients in weight training, weight loss, sports conditioning, and competition prep and has been for over 25 years. While her work experience is in personal training and competition prep it is not limited to just that, she also trains semi-pro, pro, and high school athletes preparing them to perform to full potential. Lisa was the fitness expert author for the monthly fitness column in the Sport Journal magazine for many years. Lisa has been featured in several fitness magazines; Oxygen, Natural Muscle Magazine, WTF Magazine, Shape, and many years in local newspapers. Lisa was inducted in 2014 TRI-FITNESS HALL OF FAME.

Matt DuFresne, Nutritional Coach & Trainer
A lifelong fitness advocate, Matt brings his experience to Elite Fitness Training Studio from many different areas. Early on Matt competed in bodybuilding where learned much about exercise adaptation and competitive nutrition. Matt won the Teenage Mr. America in 1985, Mr USA in 1988 and Mr America and Mr Universe in 1989, the later in London England against an international field. Matt went on to open the first state of the art Gold’s Gym fitness center in Western Massachusetts from 1992 through 2004. At this time he furthered his education with certifications by National Academy of Sports Medicine and Apex nutritional programming. It was also during this time that Matt switched from primarily weight training to cycling and triathlon as his sport. In 2003 he competed in the Lake Placid Ironman triathlon after shedding 50 pounds of body weight. For the past 7 years Matt has worked within a medical practice advising patients on healthy lifestyle and dietary choices to suite their goals. Working along side the physician Matt has helped implement gastrointestinal restoration, inflammation reducing and cardiometabolic restoration programs which have helped patients reach better health and feelings of wellness. Matt has continued his education by becoming a registered nurse and is presently pursuing his Bachelors in Nursing.

Andrea Whalen, POUND Instructor
My name is Andrea Whalen. I currently work as a nutritionist at the WIC office (Women, Infants and Children). I love my job. I have always loved staying active. I thoroughly enjoy the feeling of pushing my body to the limit. When I took my first pound class not only did I have a ton of fun doing it, but it was hard work!! I instantly fell in love and kept going back for more. I think Pound is different because it allows you to really connect with the music. You are forced to listen to the beat and move with it.
This is my first fitness certification and I am so excited for this new experience of teaching. I hope to see you soon !!

Devon Thomas, Assistant
Devon has been active in sports since the age of two, he has been on a competitive gymnastics team, competitive baseball & basketball teams in Mass, CT and NY also trained in martial arts. He has also participated in soccer, softball, and football in his spare time. Devon has competed in many obstacle course races such as Rugged Maniacs and Metro Dashes. He has also competed in national competitions called Tri-Fitness. Devon's life is very active being raised in a gym with both parents in professional sports, personal trainers, nutritionist, and sport conditioning coaches. His active life has given him a natural interest in training not only for his sports but for overall health. He has been working at Elite Fitness Training Studio since 2011, teaching kids classes and team teaching lifting classes.
